Southern Pacific River Station Depot Grounds Map

Landmark No. 10

Southern Pacific Railroad's River Station was the city’s first transcontinental railroad depot and freight yard, located adjacent to the city center, and helped transform Los Angeles from a small pueblo into a bustling metropolis. A microfische copy of the 4'x12' map is reported to be filed at the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, 900 Exposition Blvd., Los Angeles, California.
